To transform discriminatory social norms and practices towards women with disabilities, expand their agency, and make legal, economic and administrative structures responsive to their safety and promote independent living in three states of India.
Promote rights of women with disability and end violence, by transforming the discriminatory social norms and practices directed at them and ensuring responsive legal, economic, and administrative structures to their safety and independent living needs.
The project trained 738 women with disabilities on their Rights, such as Article 19 of United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), Finance Literacy, Sexual Reproductive Health rights, etc. 300 women with disabilities received livelihood support and have become independent. 92 Disability People Organisations were trained on the issues related to women with disabilities. 3246 community members were also made aware on issues faced by women with disabilities. 107 government legal officers were made aware about disability laws and rights and different issues related to women with disabilities. Frontline Health workers (312) were also trained to include people with disabilities in their programs.
