To strengthen TB-related institutions, focusing on the programmatic and clinical management of patients with TB and drug-resistant TB (DR-TB).
1) Strengthening DR-TB care facilities through Centers of Excellence;
2) Strengthening TB institutions to support the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program’s efforts to improve the programmatic and clinical management of TB, DR-TB, pediatric TB, extrapulmonary, latent TB infection, and TB preventive treatment;
3) Developing and scaling up digital and blended learning approaches;
4) Improving the quality of TB care and program management by engaging District TB program managers through a continuous quality improvement approach, and
5) Invigorating corporate sector mobilization for India’s TB response.
The project uses a “hub and spoke model” to demonstrate institutional strengthening through identified national and state-level institutes. The activity provides support through technical assistance, capacity building, and e-learning, bridging gaps with human resources and in other critical areas, while leveraging funding from the government, other donors, and untapped resources.
