Prevalence of undernutrition, anaemia and vitamin deficiencies are persistent problems amongst India's adolescents. Double Burden of Malnutrition has significant effects on the overall growth and well-being of populations, where undernourished adolescents become prone to several communicable and infectious diseases whereas overweight-obesity bears significant risks of different non-communicable diseases. This paper discusses the nutritional scenario of DBM in India as well as its causes and consequences. It also studies the interventions and makes recommendations to improving adolescent health in India. It can be a useful resource for program implementers. Click here to read the paper.
