Malnutrition continues to persist in India. There is still a high disease burden due to malnutrition, indicating that a substantially higher rate of improvement is needed for India to achieve its 2022 targets, as well as the 2030 global targets. This report outlines state-specific findings and the requisite efforts that can be made for tracking and motivating further progress, both in India as well as in other low-income and middle-income countries. It focuses on maternal and child malnutrition, highlighting its impact on early childhood development. This report is data and solution-oriented and can be useful for state health departments and organizations designing programs to reduce malnutrition in India.
